Updates in the Management and Care of People with Dementia

People with dementia are particularly vulnerable to the COVID-19 pandemic. The likelihood of developing serious COVID-19 condition is very high, per 2020 studies. They also are at risk of developing neuropsychiatric disorders due to lockdown measures and social isolation.

Our speaker, Dr. Veeda Michelle M. Anlacan, an adult neurologist and current President of the Alzheimer Disease Association of the Philippines, will give us an overview of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older persons and persons with dementia, discuss telemedicine in dementia care, raise our awareness of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, and discuss current pharmacological therapies and non-pharmacological options for this psychological disorder.
